Hello dear Reader!
I hope this finds you in the best of health and enjoying or at least interested in a little of the content of my few and far between posts? Then please do read on and I hope this offering will not disappoint....
Sooo, for a long time now (since I gave up my dreams of living abroad for my retirement) I have been trying to persuade my mother to move nearer to us as she lives 124 miles away and having to negotiate a journey on the M1 and the M25 is not an easy, nor is it a quick task and therefore it was beginning to be a worry as she begins her 84th year just in case she needed assistance we would be unable to get to her in under 3 hours..... Anyway, cutting a long story short she has consistently refused pointblank to entertain the idea of moving nearer to us up here in Northampton right up to and including my birthday this year.....and then all of a sudden the very next day (March 3rd, 2013) she calmly announced during a phone call between us that she intended to move up lock, stock and barrel!!! And that was it dear reader, she made it clear she would not want to move before the end of the month(!!) but that after the end of March it would be fine.....I had to explain that house buying and selling takes a few months not just a couple of weeks, that being understood I set about getting some bungalows for her to view and this is what I have been doing for the last couple of months now and she comes up each weekend and we view a few and we talk it over, make an offer and wait to see if it's accepted.... I am very happy to say that yesterday we found a gorgeous bungalow that will suit her down to the ground and there is absolutely nothing she needs to do to it, she can just move in and start enjoying being near to the family at last :) Great relief for me and I shall be on hand to help out in anyway she wants and then I have the big task of getting my house ready for sale as I shall want to move to somehwere near her instead of being out in the sticks as I am. Don't get me wrong, I love the village my house is in but I am only there a few nights a week and the rest of the time I spend with my partner at her house and I could do with being nearer to her as well :)
